Many companies would love to donate their time, but can’t find the time. At Morning Copy, we usually find that making the time to work free really does pay.
Not only does supporting charities with free web design work make us feel warm inside, it’s a great opportunity to showcase our skills to new markets and individuals, while developing business and community contacts.
Just this month Morning Copy did their part in supporting the well-being and education of disadvantaged children in both India and Venezeula.
While on business in New York, one of our team came across the opportunity to host a fundraising event for the Abdul Khan Foundation – an organisation that runs a school in Kaimganj, India.
Morning Copy assisted by designing a flyer for the event and helped spread the word through social media.
Five days later, the event – a rooftop party and screening of Slumdog Millionaire – brought together nearly 100 New Yorkers and raised over $700 for new sanitation facilities and an additional classroom in the Indian school.
Morning Copy did it again for the kids this week, lending some resources to Fundana Cartuchos – a non-profit organisation supporting homeless children in Caracas, Venezuela.
Fundana’s technical volunteer had found Morning Copy after trying to create Google forms to manage donations. He stumbled across the Google forms tutorial but required some additional help.
Our team built and designed the forms, and installed them on the Fundana website.
The opportunities allowed Morning Copy to spread our wings to Venezuela, New York and India. Our team has now worked in just about every continent! Not bad for a young company from Sydney!
